Garage Doors

Types of Electric Garage Doors

Whenever deciding to buy an electric garage door, you need to choose one that best fits your space and needs.

Tilt Garage Door
These doors tilt outwards and then lift, leaving one half of the door inside the garage and the other half on the outside.

Sectional Garage Door
Usually made up of no less than four panels, these doors roll straight up as each section is hinged separately.  The door retracts back via a set of tracks.

Roller Garage Doors
This type of door rolls up into a cylindrical shape around itself and are only available in a ribbed steel profile.  They are also the most cost-effective type of door.

Over and Up Door
This is the most common type of door in the UK. They are a single panel piece and a simple option when it comes to electric garage doors.

Canopy Garage Door
These are single panel doors that flip open on tracks. About one-third of the door protrudes, making a canopy past the garage itself (hence the name).
